Sakamichi no Apollon: Episode 8

So that love polygon i was worried about has become a huge mess of emotions, darkness and misunderstandings. 

The saddest thing about the situation between brother-Jun and Sentaro is that Jun was like the big brother that gives you piggy back rides and teaches you how to score chicks, if that role model that you’ve looked up to and adored is a mess and in a relationship with a girl you like with no explanation or understandings whatsoever is just completely fucked up. That scene of transition of brother Jun’s behavior in Sentaor’s head was awfully painful, how a long time ago he was teaching Sentaro Jazz and then the recent flashback where he says “your woman left this”, that scene just summarized why the situation is so hurtful. 

Moving on Ritsuko finally begins to realize her feelings that have grown for Kaoru, and when? Right when Kaoru shows Sentaro what he was blind to and makes him realize the feelings Ritsuko has for him. The most heart breaking part was when Kaoru left the store and tried to contain himself and persuade himself that he must not show feelings towards Ritsuko and that they will be better of if Ritsuko and Sentaro are together. 

So Yurika and Jun are together, Kaoru and Ritsuko have feelings for each other. The only one left is Sentaro but Jun will most probably get caught up in his old friend’s situation and the mess he’s in therefore ending it with Yurika. He doesn’t seem to love her anyway. I also predict that Kaoru won’t get involved with Ritsuko as he’s not one that would betray Sentaro and so everyone is alone and unsatisfied. I hope there is a better conlusion to this anime than what I have thought up of. 

The blast from the past about Jun added a lot to why he’s the way he is now and I’m interested to know what is in that letter. 

Well, three episodes to go. Lets hope for a good ending.
